Vote for Nepali Congress: Vote for Democracy. If you don't like Nepali Congress, then don't vote for CPN (Maoists), then vote for CPN (UML) or even Pashupati Shamsher Rana's Party is fine.

Why ? Nepali Congress may not be a perfect democratic party, but it is the only best democratic party among the available political parties. Even the god is not perfect, even the nature is not perfect, even we are not perfect, and our multiparty democracy system is not perfect, how come Nepali Congress Party be perfect. Therefore, publics who are frustrated with Nepali Congress Party, UML is a right choice, and if you consider the UML is not different from NC, then go for Pashupati Shamsher Rana's Party. But never ever vote to Maoists, don't forget they killed 15,000 Nepalis for what ? to make their election moto "Make Prachanda President of Nepal". What happened to their making Nepal a better? Their main agenda is "Make Prachanda President of Nepal".

Prachanda and Gabbar Singh in Sholay are not different. If you bring Prachanda and his party to power, he will never let another election happen. Do you remember that he was telling fairy tail of having another Junga Bahadur Rana as a new Adhinayakbadh ... blah blah ....? What does it mean, he is a hardline communist, he won't let another election happen in next 5 years or so. Communists are genetically like that, it is like a dog gives birth to new dog, it will bark no matter where it borns, and a communist will do the same thing: never let another open democracy (multiparty based) election to happen. Yes, communists also have elctions, but it is not different from Gau Farka type of elections, where multi-party system has no space.

Thats it for today. Remember vote for Nepali Congress Party's candidates, and if you don't like this party for some reason, then vote for UML, but don't vote for CPN-Maoists in any case, and if you really hate these two NC and UML candidates in your area, then either don't vote at all, or vote for some other weaker parties but never ever for CPN-Maoists.

Nepalis Without Borders (NWOB)'s special Press Bulletine

In 2004/05, when a Hawain reached to top 10 or so, then Hawai got united and voted the candidate for the American Idol. It is said that City office offered several telephone booths to make a phone call and vote for her. So, if such campaigning works in USA, and if it is acceptable in US' American Idol, then, we the members of Nepalese Without Borders (NWOB) do not think that it is unethical, and we believe it is acceptable in all standards to support the candidate of our choice in such competitive world.

In this campaign, we are recommending / requesting all those member of our Nepalese community around the world to vote for Mr. Prashant Tamang for the Indian Idol in the TV Program. We the members of NWOB do not force anyone to vote Mr. Tamang, just because he is a singer of Nepali ethnic background, but we suggest you to first spend sometime watching his previous programs, and the current program presentations he and other fellow competitors are making.

We, at NWOB, believe that if you spend sometime watching his previous competitions, and current one as well, you will certainly like his presentations, and you will be excited to be part of this campaign to vote him for the Indian Idol.

P.S.: We at NWOB will use Nepalis instead of Nepalese, because Nepalese widely means citizen of Nepal, while Nepali refers to the people of Nepali Ethnic Background. In Nepalis Without Borders, we refer to all members who are of Nepalis Ethnic Background living around the world where citizenship "National Border" is not an important factor, and that is why we are having this community named: "Nepalis Without Borders (NWOB)".

We have just initiated a group of Nepalis around the world, and named it as: Nepalis Without Borders or Nepalese Without Borders (NWOB). Mr. P. Pokharel, originally from Pokhara, and currently from Japan has was interested for a long time in creating a web forum where we can accomodate more Nepalis living around world without identifying where they live, and what they do. He contacted me, The admin of Pokhara.com, and requested to look for a great name that can provide a platform to all Nepalis living around the world without considering the national border where they live. I believe that the name "The Nepalese Without Border (NWOB)" is so unique that it will accomodate all of us.

Now, we are looking for dedicated fellow Nepalis to join the adhoc committee to formalize this brilliant concept into reality. I have just requested my webhosting company to initiate a registration of domain name: NWOB.org, so that we can present ourselves in Internet via this website.

The news published at NepalNews.com looks so phisy that such a huge chunk of money was wasted in the name of ad boards, and other stuffs. Unfortunately, there was no official ad running neither in our popular websites at Pokhara.com, Pokhara.org, and Pokhara.biz or PokharaCity.com. If these websites do not get any official request for advertising or posting the Visit Pokhara Year 2007, then the officials at Nepal Tourism Board are just GWAKH, that is it. They should be sacked. We are not asking for the PAID ad, but they would have atleast asked us to run an ad or notice, and paid or unpaid ad is not an issue here, it is about recognizing the gravity of the Internet Generation. If you want to know about Pokhara via Google or Yahoo searches, even a dumb person will have first guess on Pokhara.com or PokharaCity.com.

In the past, I had several time sent emails to Pokhara Chamber of Commerce official email address that if you want I can transfer Pokhara.org domainname to your ownership so that it can help biz in Pokhara. I never got any replies. So, do not put blame on the Pokhara.com or Pokhara.org owner for not having enough contents related to Visit Pokhara Year. I am not going to run the items without proper acknowledgement if it is not my original. I don't like running a few post card scanned pictures, or digital pictures, because I need more concrete official information on Pokhara so that I can cite them the source of these information. Well, as step forward to systematize, we have tried to systematize the street numers in Pokhara via Google Earth, so that we can reach every house in Pokhara without a waste of minute. Unfortunately, we don't have any official map of Pokhara. Tourism board is wasting money in preparing hoax posters.

Well, parts of some articles published elsewhere are posted in this website, but we have always mentioned the source to inform our viewers that the article does not belong to us. We can not simply bring Visit Pokhara Year logo from somewhere, and run it here without their permission. We support intellectual property rights of original owners. So, I am not going to NTB, and put a request them to allow me to run their VPY 2007 logo or ad. It is not our job, it is why NTB was there for.

In fact, we did not agree such hurried announcements of Visit P7.... Year announcements without enough preparations. So, I do not think that it is going to help Pokhareli Tourism Operators nor to Pokhareli Biz, because of such defective VPY 2007 preparations. We have clarified our stand in PokharaCity.com's open forum when the topic was discussed sometime ago.

We certainly understand the Japanese Proverb, you don't kill fish if you don't want to eat, but if you kill it, you must eat it. So, we are ready to help based on what we have in our hand provided the responsible authority steps forward and tells us what they want us to do to make this VPY 7 a success.

We are just wondering whether our VPY 2007 organizers know what is VPY2007 success, and how would they measure the success? Did they define success in this program? I asked this question via PokharaCity.com's open forum, but I was not sure whether Mr. Basu Tripathy, the coordinator of VPY2007 knows the mission, goals / objectives of VPY2007. So, it looked to me more an emotional program, then a real well planned program. Thus, 6 months passed, and we have not heard any official mission, objectives, goals, and plans to achieve success, and top of that I am still asking the question: what is success in VPY 2007? How do you measure it? Wasting 50 lakhs of tax payers money ? If not what?

Anyway, Nepal Tourism Board is a place where you make fake posters (do you remember the posters they made in around 2000), so much hoaxed. A friend of mine who worked in the project said that they got that job via Chakadi to a Minister's PA and his relatives, because they were not getting in straight bid to the contract. That kind of system still exists, and this time the 50 lakh rupees were JHWAM in the name of boards, posters, and other stuffs. I am sorry for Pokhara Visit Year Coordinater Mr. Tripathi. You had 15 minute fame because you got the position, but I am not sure whether you will be remembered as a successful person, or just another person who was seeking to occupy public position to have 15 minute fame. I know very well that you wanted to do some good thing via this position, but question still lingers in my mind was that the VPY announcement was not in right time, and the team that you have might not be a right team. So, you have failed to define mission, objectives, goals and plans pertaining to VPY 2007 in time, and failed to define the success of VPY2007, and also not sure whether you know what is success in this VPY7 program. In Japanese, it is called MAJIMENI YATTERU: garna ta khojeko tara ke garne ra kasari garne bhanne nai thaha chhaina, gari rako rako rako chha, tara ke gareo chha ra kina gari raheko chha thahai chhaina. So, another Japanese Proverb will help you: Vision without action is day dream, and Action without vision is nightmare. VPY 2007 lacks both vision and action.

काठमाडौं । माओवादीको भातृ संगठन वाईसीएलको आतंकबाट पीडित आमजनसमुदायमा यतिखेर एउटा प्रश्न उब्जिएको छ- प्रतिबन्ध कसलाई लगाउने माओवादीले मधेसी जनअधिकार फोरममाथि प्रतिबन्ध लगाउन प्रस्ताव अघि सारेपछि यस्तो प्रश्न उब्जिएको हो ।

माओवादीको केन्द्रीय सचिवालय बैठकमा फोरमलाई प्रतिबन्ध लगाउन तयार भएको प्रस्तावमाथि छलफल चलिरहेको छ भने यता सर्वसाधारण जनता वाईसीएलमाथि प्रतिबन्ध लगाउन माग गरिरहेका छन् । व्यक्ति अपहरण धम्की चन्दा आतंकदेखि भौतिक कार्बाही माओवादी

माओवादीको यो प्रस्तावमा मान्छेमा नै समूहलाई खुला छाड्न मिल्दैन तर त्यो निहुँबाट जुन संस्थालाई प्रतिबन्ध लगाउन प्रस्ताव भएको छ माओवादी कार्यकर्ता भने अर्कै समूह जो भूमिगत छ बाट मारिएका छन् । आफ्ना पूर्व कार्यकर्ता संलग्न भएको प्रतिशोधमा माओवादी यति आक्रोसित भएको त होइन भन्ने पनि प्रश्न उब्जिएको छ । तिनै प्रश्नभित्र प्रतिबन्ध लाग्नुपर्ने संस्थाका रुपमा वाईसीएल प्रथम सूचीमा जनताको मन र विचारमा अंकित भएको छ ।

मेलम्चि उपत्यकाबासीको बाच्ने आशाको त्यान्द्रो हो। उपत्यका छोडेर कहा जानु त्यहा का वासिन्दाहरु।
उपत्यका का स्थायी वासिन्दा भनेका १३ लाख जनता हुन, बाकी २४ लाख त अस्थायी नै हुन्। ती मध्य होला वाइ सी एल का कथित क्रान्तिकारि लठैतहरु को जमात नै ५० हजार्। तिर्खा सबैलाई लाग्छ, अहिले मन्त्री छिन र पानीको जोहो गर्ने चिन्ता छैनन् होला, यमि जीलाई। तर उहाँकै दिदि मेरा छिमेकि हुन्, पानी न आएको एक जुग बिती सक्यो, पानी कुर्नु र भर्नु को पीडा यमि जी कै आफ्नै दिदीलाई राम्रो सङ थाहा छ।
अर्को कुरा, पैसा माग्नेले आफनो शर्त राख्छ कि, दिने ले? हाम्रा मन्त्री त यस्तो कुरा गर्नु हुन्छ कि, मेलम्चि को लागि ए डी बी मरिहत्ते गरिराख्या छ र त्यसमा लगानी गर्न पाएन भने बैंक डुब्छ। अनि लौ बा तिमीले भनेको शर्त मान्छु, पैसा लग।
जङल् बाट् भर्खर् शहर् पसेका हुन्। शहरि हुनु को सभ्यता र अबस्था बुझी सक्नु भएको छैन।
शालिक तोड्नुमा चाहे लौह पुरुष गणेष मान सिंहको होस् वा भानु भक्त को, गौरब गर्छन्, नव क्रान्तिकारि हरु। अब बनिबनाउ मेलम्चि पनि तोड्फोड् गर्दा बडा मज्जा आयो होला।
अब खानेपानी संस्थान को ब्यबस्थापन नीजी क्षेत्रलाई दिने सवाल मा बबाल जो गरि राख्या छन्, बुझ्ने जो पनि हास्ने छन्। पानी महङो हुन्छ कर्मचारि हटाउछ कामचोरहरुको कुरा सुनेर नि कहाँ हुन्छ र। निजी ब्यबस्थापन ले कर्मचारि हटाउन सक्दैन। हो अस्थायी ज्यालादारि हरु को भने खैरियत छैनन्।
काम चोर् हरुको स्थान् छैन।

Samacharpatra closure

Nepal Samacharpatra, a national daily, has suspended its publication for the time being since Wednesday. Its sister publication- Mahanagar- was closed on Tuesday itself. The management of these newspapers has said it was forced to take the harsh decision following the obstructions by the hawkers. This is for the first time that a mainstream national daily has gone out of operation due to rift between the workers and the management. Since continuity is the credibility of a newspaper, this disruption is a huge blow not only to Samacharpatra but also to the free media in Nepal. Even during the draconian rule of King Gyanendra, which tried to gag the independent media, no daily newspaper went out of print for a single day. The closure of Samacharpatra should, therefore, be taken seriously by the media fraternity, civil society and the political parties.

The circumstance under which these two newspapers have been forced to shut down is dubious. Samacharpatra had outsourced its distribution to Customers Solution Pvt Limited. The hawkers, who were actually employees of Customers Solution, created obstructions demanding formation of a trade union in Kamana Prakashan Samuha, the publisher of Samacharpatra. Trade union is the right of employees ensured by the law and no management can - and should - try to trample the right of the workers. But how come the employees of one company demand to form a trade union in another company? The fact that the hawkers are trying to form All Nepal Communication Press and Publications Trade Union, which is affiliated to CPN (Maoist), raises many questions. Is this the tactic of the Maoists to arm-twist the independent media? Are they trying to send a message to the independent media houses that criticism against them will invite dire consequences? Are the Maoists, who have faced the wrath of the media in recent days, making a strategic but indirect move, to cow them into submission?

Minister for Information and Communications Krishna Bahadur Mahara's comment that "it is an issue to be sorted out between the management and the workers" lends credence to the suspicion that it could be a tactical move of the Maoists. Any media house or an industry is obliged to talk and negotiate with its workers but not with someone who are not even its employees. So, the obstruction by hawkers at Kamana Prakashan is not an issue between the management and the employees. If the Maoists think that they can silence growing media criticism against them by encouraging their trade union to take on the media, this is a strategy completely wrong-headed and could be counter-productive in the long run. The Maoists should not forget that Nepal's media has already demonstrated adequate fighting spirit to defend its freedom.
