The news published at NepalNews.com looks so phisy that such a huge chunk of money was wasted in the name of ad boards, and other stuffs. Unfortunately, there was no official ad running neither in our popular websites at Pokhara.com, Pokhara.org, and Pokhara.biz or PokharaCity.com. If these websites do not get any official request for advertising or posting the Visit Pokhara Year 2007, then the officials at Nepal Tourism Board are just GWAKH, that is it. They should be sacked. We are not asking for the PAID ad, but they would have atleast asked us to run an ad or notice, and paid or unpaid ad is not an issue here, it is about recognizing the gravity of the Internet Generation. If you want to know about Pokhara via Google or Yahoo searches, even a dumb person will have first guess on Pokhara.com or PokharaCity.com.

In the past, I had several time sent emails to Pokhara Chamber of Commerce official email address that if you want I can transfer Pokhara.org domainname to your ownership so that it can help biz in Pokhara. I never got any replies. So, do not put blame on the Pokhara.com or Pokhara.org owner for not having enough contents related to Visit Pokhara Year. I am not going to run the items without proper acknowledgement if it is not my original. I don't like running a few post card scanned pictures, or digital pictures, because I need more concrete official information on Pokhara so that I can cite them the source of these information. Well, as step forward to systematize, we have tried to systematize the street numers in Pokhara via Google Earth, so that we can reach every house in Pokhara without a waste of minute. Unfortunately, we don't have any official map of Pokhara. Tourism board is wasting money in preparing hoax posters.

Well, parts of some articles published elsewhere are posted in this website, but we have always mentioned the source to inform our viewers that the article does not belong to us. We can not simply bring Visit Pokhara Year logo from somewhere, and run it here without their permission. We support intellectual property rights of original owners. So, I am not going to NTB, and put a request them to allow me to run their VPY 2007 logo or ad. It is not our job, it is why NTB was there for.

In fact, we did not agree such hurried announcements of Visit P7.... Year announcements without enough preparations. So, I do not think that it is going to help Pokhareli Tourism Operators nor to Pokhareli Biz, because of such defective VPY 2007 preparations. We have clarified our stand in PokharaCity.com's open forum when the topic was discussed sometime ago.

We certainly understand the Japanese Proverb, you don't kill fish if you don't want to eat, but if you kill it, you must eat it. So, we are ready to help based on what we have in our hand provided the responsible authority steps forward and tells us what they want us to do to make this VPY 7 a success.

We are just wondering whether our VPY 2007 organizers know what is VPY2007 success, and how would they measure the success? Did they define success in this program? I asked this question via PokharaCity.com's open forum, but I was not sure whether Mr. Basu Tripathy, the coordinator of VPY2007 knows the mission, goals / objectives of VPY2007. So, it looked to me more an emotional program, then a real well planned program. Thus, 6 months passed, and we have not heard any official mission, objectives, goals, and plans to achieve success, and top of that I am still asking the question: what is success in VPY 2007? How do you measure it? Wasting 50 lakhs of tax payers money ? If not what?

Anyway, Nepal Tourism Board is a place where you make fake posters (do you remember the posters they made in around 2000), so much hoaxed. A friend of mine who worked in the project said that they got that job via Chakadi to a Minister's PA and his relatives, because they were not getting in straight bid to the contract. That kind of system still exists, and this time the 50 lakh rupees were JHWAM in the name of boards, posters, and other stuffs. I am sorry for Pokhara Visit Year Coordinater Mr. Tripathi. You had 15 minute fame because you got the position, but I am not sure whether you will be remembered as a successful person, or just another person who was seeking to occupy public position to have 15 minute fame. I know very well that you wanted to do some good thing via this position, but question still lingers in my mind was that the VPY announcement was not in right time, and the team that you have might not be a right team. So, you have failed to define mission, objectives, goals and plans pertaining to VPY 2007 in time, and failed to define the success of VPY2007, and also not sure whether you know what is success in this VPY7 program. In Japanese, it is called MAJIMENI YATTERU: garna ta khojeko tara ke garne ra kasari garne bhanne nai thaha chhaina, gari rako rako rako chha, tara ke gareo chha ra kina gari raheko chha thahai chhaina. So, another Japanese Proverb will help you: Vision without action is day dream, and Action without vision is nightmare. VPY 2007 lacks both vision and action.
